From February 1 to March 2, 2025, Museum Het Schip, in collaboration with Cultuurdorp Westergas, presents the pop-up exhibition Green Paradise Amsterdam at the Meterhuisje in Westerpark. This exhibition is an extension of The Worker's Paradise: World Garden Cities, on view at Museum Het Schip until July 27, 2025. Three artists from Amsterdam-West have drawn inspiration from the exhibition and explored the question: what does the green city mean to you? The exhibition looks at both the past and the future.
What can we learn from the garden city movement, how do we think about green spaces and community spirit today, and how will this be reflected in the city of the future?
Throughout February, the Meterhuisje will showcase the work of Dilruba Tayfun, Kim Blekkenhorst, and HOUT&MOS (Michiel de Jong). These three artists from different disciplines were inspired by the exhibition The Worker's Paradise: Garden Cities and Garden Villages, on view at Museum Het Schip until July 27, 2025. This inspiration led to brand-new works, coming together in a unique group presentation.
The exhibition is open Wednesday to Sunday from 12:00 - 17:00 and is free to visit. Address: Pazzanistraat 6, Amsterdam.
This exhibition was made possible by Stadsdeel West, Amsterdam 750, and Cultuurdorp Westergas.
