From November 6, 2026 until August 1, 2027, Museum Het Schip presents the exhibition Bright New World. Imagination Takes Power. Through a wide range of drawings, films, paintings and sculptures, the museum explores utopian ideas from both the interwar period and today. The darker side of utopia—the dystopia—is also addressed. The exhibition features works by Amsterdam School artists alongside those of contemporary artists. Bright New World opens up a dreamlike world in which themes such as nature, technology, religion and spirituality are explored in surprising ways, while also offering a fresh perspective on the challenges we face today.
