Moving to work: innovative practices in American social housing (Opening Event workshop)
ISHF
About
The tendency in the Netherlands and elsewhere of housing associations having to focus on their ‘core business’ (providing affordable housing for the low end of the market) is likely to move the situation closer to that in Anglo-Saxon countries. We asked Josh Crites, strategic adviser at the Seattle Housing Authority to reflect on the status of social housing in the USA. In this workshop he will briefly introduce social housing in the USA and he will focus on the ‘Moving to Work’ demonstration programme, in which housing authorities offer a broad range of services, solutions and ideas to achieve their social goals.
Speakers
Josh Crites, Strategic Housing Advisor at Seattle Housing Authority
