Energy renovation of social housing
Vastbouw
About
The ‘Het Schip’ residential block is one of the most iconic residential buildings of the Netherlands. From its completion in 1925 onward, it has been a beacon of architectural quality and high standards in social housing. The owner —housing corporation ‘Eigen Haard’— commissioned construction firm Vastbouw to renovate the block to almost zero energy level (in Dutch: BENG -Bijna Energie Neutraal Gebouw). This project is underway and will continue as the festival takes place.
Vastbouw is organizing a meeting on innovation in energy renovation showcasing the Het Schip project and other innovations.
Additionally, Vastbouw will organize a construction site tour of the block. Participants will get an overview of the technical aspects of energy renovation by visiting a dwelling before and after renovation. This tour will take place before the meeting, from 13 to 15 hrs at Het Schip Museum. Participants can register at the bottom of this page.
